Fiona Rhode, Course Leader and Founder of Strategy Maths, has been passionately teaching mathematics for the past 23 years. During her career, she has taught at some of the most highly regarded schools and colleges in the East of England, including Felsted School, Colchester Sixth Form College, and St Mary's School for Girls. Since September 2025, she has been teaching at one of the country's leading girls' grammar schools, currently ranked as the 7th best state school in the UK.
Fiona also has many years of experience as an examiner. She previously examined for the International Baccalaureate Organisation and is currently an examiner for the Pearson Edexcel examination board.
With extensive experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, and PDA, Fiona is passionate about ensuring equal access to education and is highly skilled at creating engaging learning experiences tailored to a wide range of learning styles and abilities.
Her approach goes far beyond teaching students to apply a procedure to different numbers. Instead, she develops fluency, communication, and reasoning skills, with a strong emphasis on making meaningful connections between topics so that problem-solving becomes both accessible and enjoyable.
